Meet Our Staff

The team at Young Explorers Preschool and Long Day Care are an exceptional group of educators. We believe they are one of our greatest assets and we pride ourselves on selecting the best quality people with a real passion for children's care and education. All of our staff regularly attend professional development courses to further their experience and keep up to date with industry and legislation changes.
Nicole Clayton

- Centre Director/Nominated Supervisor

"The well being of the children is essential, irrespective of their personal circumstance, such as race, religion, gender, disability or cultural backgrounds. This extends to supporting families from diverse backgrounds in their roles as caregivers. Regular communication with families is an integral aspect of my role so that we can work alongside each other for the benefit of the child."

Justice Mifsud

- Educator

"I believe that the foundation of learning and interaction that a child receives at a young age greatly impacts their behaviours and learning in the future. Children should be given choices, responsibilities, and opportunities to initiate their own learning and to build confidence, knowledge, and independence. As an early childhood educator, I understand that each child is unique in their own way with different strengths, interests, skills, and abilities."

Kim Wardman

- Early Childhood Teacher/Educational       Leader

"My philosophy is to provide children with a high quality of care and an inclusive learning environment with each child’s health and well being, including children with additional and/or special needs with the utmost importance. This involves the belief in a safe, secure and stimulating environment in collaboration with each child’s individual needs and the
‘National Quality Standards (NQS), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)’ and my
favourite Theorist Bronfenbrenner who I strongly agree with in the belief that “children’s environment impacts their learning”. All children will be treated with respect, dignity and compassion regardless of gender, culture, race or religious beliefs with the aim to be inclusive and equal in my approach to observing, programming, planning and evaluating children’s voices in activities and interests in a reflective manner.
In addition to my philosophy, I incorporate an awareness of environmental sustainable practices and natural environments through programming provisions with ongoing reflections. It is vital to me as an early childhood teacher and educator to have open communication with all staff, children and families."

Alisha Parker

- Educator/Assistant Educational Leader

"As an educator I believe that children deserve a nurturing, secure and inspiring environment to assist them in their individual journey of learning and life. I observe children in a holistic manner; I see not only the process of their achievements but also who each individual child is as a person and take into account every aspect of their life. As an educator I am inspired by the Reggio Emilia Philosophy principles."
